Tom Ingram was stripped of his victory in the first British Touring Car Championship race at Donington Park due to overboosting in his Hyundai i30 N Fastback. Mikey Doble of Power Maxed Racing’s Audi A3 Saloon was awarded the win, with Ash Sutton moving up to second in his NAPA Ford Focus Titanium. Adam Morgan also received a penalty for overboosting in his Mercedes A35 Saloon, allowing Charles Rainford to claim third in his BMW 330i M Sport. The new Closed Loop Boost Scrutineering system was implemented to ensure fair competition and immediate correction of overboost issues. This system notifies teams of overboost violations for instant corrections to maintain fair racing conditions. The penalties for overboosting were significant, impacting the final results of the races and emphasizing the importance of adherence to technical regulations in the BTCC.
