Track conditions necessitated a delay in switching to slick tyres for the planned programme. Oscar Piastri encountered technical issues during the testing, hampering his F1 return to the Nurburgring. McLaren and Mercedes saw Piastri and George Russell testing dry weather tyres for Pirelli in Germany. Both drivers completed multiple runs with the C3 tyre, gathering promising data as part of Pirelli’s test plan. Piastri faced setbacks with technical problems, while Russell impressed with 127 laps and a best time of 1:33.899 on the first day. Both drivers will yield to their teammates for the second day of testing on Wednesday.
