Revolutionary FIA Report Unveils Crucial Role of F1 Support in Driving Forward Progress

The FIA has published a report detailing the “extraordinary scale” of the contribution of volunteers to the F1 world championship.

The FIA research established that over 20,000 volunteers are needed for a full 24-round season of the F1 world championship. On average, 838 volunteers are required per weekend to make Formula 1 events possible. These volunteers receive training and development worth over €11 million annually, highlighting their importance for the sport’s operations and growth. Volunteers, ranging from marshals to incident teams, play a crucial role in ensuring safety and fostering the unique F1 atmosphere. Despite a 20% increase in workload, two-thirds of volunteers stay for over five years, showcasing strong retention rates. Their contributions are valued at €13.2 million, emphasizing the essential role they play in supporting the championship’s expansion and success.
