The impact of the ongoing crisis in the Middle East has caused another race postponement.
SUPER GT has officially postponed its Sepang 300km round scheduled for June due to the escalating Middle East crisis’s logistical challenges. The Malaysian government’s withdrawal of support and increasing freight costs prompted the decision. HARO Sports and the Gran Turismo Association noted the uncertain Middle East situation and rising operational difficulties as reasons for the postponement. Despite disappointment, HARO expressed solidarity with those affected and thanked stakeholders for their understanding. GTA acknowledged the hardships and thanked supporters while highlighting the potential impact on the 2026 season’s length. The crisis’s effects extend to Formula 1, with logistics costs and race cancellations posing challenges to motorsport’s global operations. The situation underscores the need for series to adapt to geopolitical instability and rising transport costs in sustaining international racing programmes.
