Opel has announced the first driver to its Formula E outfit in any role.

Opel has announced Sophia Flörsch as its test and development driver for the upcoming season, marking the manufacturer’s official entry into Formula E. Flörsch, a 25-year-old, is the first driver to be revealed by the German brand and will be introduced at the Gen4 launch event at Paul Ricard in two weeks. Opel has strategically selected Flörsch, a homegrown talent, to contribute to the development of its Gen4 project as a Stellantis-owned factory team. This collaboration offers Flörsch the opportunity to work alongside a company rich in “125 years of motorsport DNA” as they venture into the competitive realm of Formula E.
