Ford Dominates Nürburgring with Record-Breaking Performance

Another piece of history has been made on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Ford has bettered three lap records on the Green Hell.

Ford has set a new record at the Nordschleife with the Ford GT Mk IV car, driven by Frédéric Vervisch.

The Ford GT Mk IV completed a lap of the over 20-kilometer track in Germany’s Eifel region in 6:15.977, making it the fastest road production car.

This achievement surpassed the previous record set by Mercedes-AMG One, setting a new benchmark for speed.

Despite challenging conditions with cold weather, Ford managed to achieve a top speed of 310 km/h during the run.

In addition to breaking the production car record, the Ford GT Mk IV also set a new record for the fastest lap by a car powered solely by an internal combustion engine.

Furthermore, the Ford GT Mk IV now holds the title of the fastest American-made car around the Nordschleife, surpassing the previous record set by Corvette.

Although Porsche retains the absolute lap record with the 919 Hybrid EVO, Ford’s accomplishment at the Nurburgring is remarkable and worth watching.
