The FIA has made a stunning reversal of its late circuit change at the Australian Grand Prix.
The FIA has reversed its decision to remove the fourth straight mode at Albert Park following feedback from F1 teams, reinstating it for FP3.
This change came after drivers expressed their dissatisfaction to the motorsport governing body during a briefing on Friday evening.
Some teams in Melbourne were not pleased with the initial decision and conveyed their concerns on Saturday morning, prompting the FIA to reverse the removal before FP3.
There is a possibility that the Straight Mode Zone 4 may still be removed for qualifying, but the situation remains uncertain and subject to change.
In a statement to the media, the FIA confirmed the immediate reversion, stating that Straight Mode Zone 4 will be utilized during FP3 and that further evaluation will occur during and after the session.
