Sergio Perez is preparing for his first race in Cadillac colours following his one-year sabbatical after leaving Red Bull.
Sergio Perez has criticized Red Bull while entering the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, stating that his technical feedback is valued more at Cadillac. The Mexican driver is back in F1 this season with the new American team after taking a year off in 2025 following his departure from Red Bull. Perez and Red Bull mutually ended their partnership after a challenging 2024 season, where the performances of Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda alongside Max Verstappen emphasized the difficulties he faced. Taking time away from the sport after his tough period at Red Bull, Perez found renewed motivation with the fresh Cadillac project. He believes in the potential success of the long-term Cadillac project and is excited to be part of this new journey in Formula 1.
