Francesco Bagnaia managed to stop Jorge Martin’s recent trend of gaining points back in the MotoGP standings after overcoming the Spaniard at Sepang.
Like in Saturday’s sprint, Jorge Martin attempted to overtake the reigning MotoGP champion, Pecco Bagnaia, but Bagnaia responded immediately on all three occasions. Bagnaia mentioned that he was not expecting Martin’s pace to be as fast as it was, and it was important for him to win the battle against Martin. Bagnaia was happy to have rediscovered his one lap pace after claiming a seventh pole of the season, especially since recent races had been a problem for him. The Italian rider also expressed surprise at the pace being set in the races this season, with the Malaysian MotoGP being 15 seconds faster than last year.
