EA Sports has announced that they will not release a new Formula 1 game for the 2026 season, opting instead to provide a paid expansion to F1 25 featuring 2026 cars, teams, and regulations – with no mention of circuits. The company aims to authentically reflect the full 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship in next year’s expansion. EA Sports will revamp its game for 2027 to deliver a new version that looks, feels, and plays differently, offering more gameplay choices. According to Lee Mather, the senior creative director at Codemasters, F1 25’s success has paved the way for building a future-focused F1 gaming experience. The decision to skip the 2026 release coincides with F1’s new technical era, featuring new power units and active aerodynamics on the chassis side, allowing EA Sports more time to understand and accurately replicate the new machinery. This strategic move will give developers ample time to enhance the game experience for all players worldwide.
