The Shocking Departure: Josh Williams’ Abrupt Exit from Kaulig Racing

Josh Williams, the driver of the No. 11 Chevrolet for Kaulig Racing, has been released from his contract, effective immediately. The team will have multiple drivers fill his spot in the remaining 12 races of the season. Carson Hocevar will replace Williams for this weekend’s Xfinity race at Iowa Speedway.

Williams, a veteran of the NASCAR Xfinity Series with over 200 starts, had a controversial moment in the 2023 season when he parked his car on the frontstretch at Atlanta. His performance at Kaulig has been lackluster, with no top-five finishes to his name. His teammates, Daniel Dye and Christian Eckes, have had better results but are also facing challenges this season.

Despite his struggles, Williams expressed gratitude to his fans and is optimistic about his future in racing. The decision to part ways was influenced by both performance issues and Williams’ health concerns earlier in the year.
