Bernie Ecclestone criticized Christian Horner’s behavior following his firing from Red Bull Racing after a sexting scandal. Despite being cleared of sexual harassment claims, Horner’s alleged messages caused a media frenzy and embarrassment. Ecclestone expressed little sympathy for the woman involved and highlighted Red Bull’s concerns about power concentration under Horner in Milton Keynes. The power struggle within the company intensified after Red Bull’s co-founder, Dietrich Mateschitz’s passing in 2022, contributing to the muddle. Ecclestone believed that Horner’s desire to oversee all areas of the business ultimately led to his downfall despite suggestions to focus on specific roles.
