Formula 1 has announced a new long-term contract extending the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring until 2041, aligning it with the Miami circuit’s deal. This move continues the trend of securing circuits with extended contracts, as seen recently with Canada’s extension until at least 2035. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali praised Austria’s rich F1 history and the dedication of those involved in making the event a success, expressing gratitude towards the Mateschitz family and the Austrian fanbase. The Red Bull Ring’s journey through various incarnations, from Zeltweg Airfield to Osterreichring and A1-Ring, culminated in its current popularity following Dietrich Mateschitz’s investment and revival in 2014. Mark Mateschitz, continuing his father’s legacy, expressed pride in securing Formula 1’s presence at the track and emphasized the importance of preserving the region’s motorsport history for future generations.
