Despite two terrifying crashes, Marc Marquez remained uninjured and kept his sense of humor intact despite needing stitches in his chin. During the practice sessions at Assen, Marquez experienced a hard fall at nearly 200kph, causing his hand to lose circulation. Later that day, he lost control of his bike and suffered injuries requiring stitches on his chest and chin. This incident was reminiscent of a serious accident he had at Mugello in 2013, which left his face vulnerable. Fortunately, Ducati confirmed that Marquez only had bruises and could continue racing the next day. Despite the painful experience, Marquez jokingly noted that the stitches in his chin would not affect his championship standings. Finally, Marquez highlighted the need to improve safety measures at the circuits, emphasizing the importance of replacing stone gravel with a safer alternative.
