Arvid Lindblad is set to participate in Friday practice at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, confirmed by Red Bull’s Helmut Marko. The 17-year-old Red Bull talent from F2 is preparing for his grand prix weekend debut next month at Silverstone after obtaining an FIA superlicence and completing a full test with Racing Bulls at Imola. Lindblad, a British driver of Swedish and Indian descent, tested Racing Bulls’ 2023 AT04 at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix venue alongside fellow Red Bull junior Ayumu Iwasa. He is expected to drive for the same squad at the British Grand Prix weekend on 4-6 July. Lindblad’s mental strength and self-confidence have been highlighted by Marko, who mentioned the team is preparing in case Max Verstappen faces penalties that could lead to a race ban. Lindblad, along with Iwasa, serves as a reserve driver for both Red Bull teams, with the team emphasizing the challenge of finding competitive reserve drivers due to overlapping commitments in Formula 1 and other racing series.
