Valtteri Bottas Revs Up for Thrilling Formula 1 Comeback with Cadillac Partnership in 2026

Valtteri Bottas, currently the Mercedes Formula 1 reserve driver, has emerged as a strong candidate to join the Cadillac team in the upcoming season, with senior figures of the team preparing to attend the British Grand Prix next month.

Meetings at Silverstone will involve discussions with drivers’ management, aiming to secure the first driver contract in a few weeks, potentially stretching negotiations for the second driver into September.

While Sergio Perez was initially a frontrunner, his absence from recent talks has opened up opportunities for other experienced drivers like Bottas, who has expressed a keen interest in returning full-time to F1.

Bottas is now a prominent contender for a Cadillac seat, possibly alongside Perez if the team opts for two experienced drivers or in competition with Perez if a mix of experience and youth is sought, with Felipe Drugovich also in the frame for the second seat.

The atmosphere is buzzing in the F1 paddock with rumors circulating about Aston Martin’s current drivers’ reluctance to see Drugovich on track, adding intrigue to the upcoming driver lineup decisions for the Cadillac team.
