Marvelous Victory at BTCC Oulton Park: Sutton Seizes Points Lead with Second Race Triumph

Four-time British Touring Car Championship title winner Ash Sutton secured victory in the second race at Oulton Park, reclaiming the points lead from his competitors.

Sutton strategically sacrificed third place in the opening race to avoid using hard-compound tires, swiftly overtaking his rivals on soft rubber to take the lead.

Despite a strong challenge from Adam Morgan, Sutton maintained his composure and utilized his TOCA Turbo Boost advantage to clinch the win by 1.715 seconds.

Tom Chilton completed the podium, showcasing impressive pace and earning the fastest lap bonus point in the process.

Tom Ingram demonstrated remarkable resilience, holding onto fourth place with hard tires against softer-shod competitors, while Dan Rowbottom made significant progress from 14th to sixth place in his Alliance Ford.

The race saw intense battles throughout the field, with Gordon Shedden ultimately securing ninth place and pole position in the reversed-grid lineup for the next race.

The challenging conditions, including rain and multiple incidents, tested the skill and strategic decision-making of the drivers, resulting in a thrilling and action-packed race at Oulton Park.
