The FIA has removed Sara Mariani, the organisation’s Sustainability, Diversity and Inclusion director, as part of a restructuring. Mariani expressed her farewell in her out-of-office email, mentioning her love for the work done and her team. Despite the unexpected end, she emphasized the importance of talent and dedication in leadership positions outside the FIA. The Federation announced splitting the sustainability, diversity, and inclusion function into two new divisions, leading to Mariani’s redundancy. The changes will distribute responsibilities to different leaders, focusing on enhancing efforts in sustainability and D&I. Mariani’s departure adds to a list of high-ranking officials leaving the FIA in recent times, reflecting broader structural adjustments within the organization.
