Toyota Gazoo Racing technical director David Floury criticized the FIA’s Balance of Performance for the Le Mans 24 Hours, expressing disappointment in Toyota’s performance at the race compared to Ferrari’s dominance. Floury acknowledged that Toyota didn’t achieve their goal of winning the event, citing the predictability of the outcome every year. Despite a strong race from the #8 car, technical issues and lack of performance hindered Toyota’s competitiveness, frustrating Floury. The team faced challenges with tire strategy and top speed compared to their competitors, resulting in a fifth and 15th place finish for the Japanese constructor. Despite obstacles, the #7 Toyota entry managed to secure a fifth-place finish post-race after an incident on the first lap.
