McLaren team principal Andrea Stella expressed his full support for Lando Norris after Norris took responsibility for colliding with his teammate Oscar Piastri during the Canadian Grand Prix. Despite fighting closely for fourth place, Norris misjudged an overtaking attempt on Piastri, leading to a collision and terminal damage to his car. Stella acknowledged Norris’ immediate acceptance of fault and offered assurance of team support during internal discussions to prevent similar incidents in the future. He emphasized the importance of learning from the situation and ensuring proper margins are maintained during races. Stella dismissed the idea that Norris’ frustration from qualifying affected the incident, anticipating constructive conversations once everyone has had time to reflect and learn.
