Ferrari won the 93rd running of the Le Mans 24 Hours with its satellite #83 entry driven by Phil Hanson, Robert Kubica, and Yifei Ye, narrowly missing out on a podium lockout as the #50 and #51 cars were bested by the #6 Porsche for second place.
The race saw a close battle among the top cars, finishing within 30 seconds of each other, with Ferrari benefitting from a mid-race safety car period that helped erase its earlier mistakes.
Despite starting strong, the Cadillac Jota cars struggled with top speed, eventually dropping out of the top 10, while Porsche’s #6 car made an impressive climb through the field after disqualification from qualifying.
Porsche’s steady progress was hindered by penalties and incidents, with the lead changing hands multiple times between Ferrari and Porsche cars throughout the race.
The competition remained intense, with various penalties affecting the outcome, ultimately showcasing the unpredictability and drama of endurance racing at Le Mans.
