Lando Norris set the fastest time in the final free practice session before qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix, clocking a time of 1m11.799s. Charles Leclerc followed in second place, with George Russell and Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari close behind.
Despite calling Friday their worst day of the year, Norris bounced back on Saturday. Meanwhile, championship leader Oscar Piastri experienced a setback when he hit the wall of champions, leading to a red flag.
Nico Hulkenberg and Oliver Bearman had incidents at the final chicane, but both managed to avoid serious damage. Max Verstappen finished fifth overall, while Fernando Alonso’s Aston Martin was the only other car within half a second of Norris.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli claimed the seventh spot, followed by Piastri in eighth. Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon rounded out the top 10 positions in the practice session.
