Japanese rider Takaaki Nakagami will replace the injured Luca Marini at the MotoGP Italian Grand Prix in Mugello next week for the factory Honda squad. Marini is still recovering from injuries sustained during a Suzuka 8 Hours test in Japan. Honda previously raced with only one rider in Aragon, but now must field a substitute for Marini. Nakagami, who retired as a full-time rider last season to become a test rider for HRC, will make his debut with the official Honda MotoGP team. With Marini out, the possibility remains that Aleix Espargaro could be called in to fill in if needed.
