Lando Norris expressed disappointment at McLaren’s performance during Friday’s practice for the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix, stating it was their worst Friday of the season. Despite being a dominant team this year, Norris and teammate Oscar Piastri were not as competitive, with Norris seventh in the morning session and second in FP2, while Piastri was 14th and sixth, respectively. Other teams such as Mercedes, Red Bull, and Williams showed strong performance, leaving McLaren trailing. Despite McLaren introducing upgrades, Norris hinted they might revert back after struggling with consistency on the track. The team aims to simplify the car’s handling to improve their competitiveness.
