Red Bull is hoping Max Verstappen avoids receiving another F1 penalty point during the Canadian Grand Prix to prevent a potential one-race ban. Team principal Christian Horner believes they have enough drivers to manage in Verstappen’s absence if necessary. Verstappen currently has 11 penalty points, close to the 12-point limit for a ban due to his incident with George Russell at the Spanish Grand Prix. Red Bull’s unique contractual setup provides them with flexibility to swap drivers within their four full-time F1 driver pool, including recent F1-grade superlicence holder Arvid Lindblad. In case of a Verstappen ban, potential replacements could be Liam Lawson, Isack Hadjar, or reserve driver Ayumu Iwasa. Horner also noted Yuki Tsunoda’s developing confidence after recent setbacks and hoped for a strong performance at the Canadian Grand Prix.
