Touring car legend Gabriele Tarquini has been appointed as the sporting director of the new Genesis World Endurance Championship Hypercar team for the 2026 season. He transitioned into management after retiring from racing in 2021, following a successful career in touring cars.
Tarquini brings his vast experience as a driver, coach, and team manager to this new role, expressing excitement for the challenge ahead in the WEC. Alongside Tarquini, Genesis has made key appointments such as chief engineer Justin Taylor and team manager Anouck Abadie to strengthen the team.
The Genesis Magma Racing team is gearing up for the upcoming season, with their Hypercar development progressing well and a solid team foundation in place. They are also building a ‘Race Base’ at Paul Ricard to further support their operations and preparations for the debut Hypercar.
Various talented individuals, including Warren Scheckter and Mia Sharizman, have joined the team in key roles, showcasing the commitment and ambition of Genesis Magma Racing. Plans for the debut of the Genesis GMR-001 Hypercar in August and participation in the LMDh programme highlight the team’s determination to make an impact in endurance racing.
