Malcolm Wilson Elevates Motorsport Leadership as FIA’s Deputy President for Sport

Malcom Wilson has been elected as the FIA Deputy President for Sport after a vote at the FIA’s Extraordinary General Assembly in Macau, nominated by FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem in April.

The majority of voters supported Wilson’s appointment, recognizing his significant contributions to British motorsport and rallying, both as a driver and entrepreneur.

Wilson’s leadership at M-Sport, managing Ford’s World Rally programme and winning titles, as well as his success with Bentley’s racing programme and supplying engines to the British Touring Car Championship, highlight his vast experience in the industry.

Acknowledged for his service to motorsport, Wilson was awarded the Order of the British Empire in 2009 and expresses excitement in contributing to the future of motorsport as FIA Deputy President for Sport.

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem emphasizes Wilson’s crucial role in advancing motorsport, praising his wealth of experience as a driver and technical partner, and looks forward to collaborating with Wilson to enhance and grow motorsport worldwide.
