This weekend, when NASCAR races at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City, the Xfinity Series field will include three Mexican drivers, including Daniel Suarez and Andres Perez De Lara.
In a late addition to the entry list, Rubén Rovelo will also be competing in this significant event, driving the No. 35 Chevrolet for Joey Gase Motorsports for his first start at the Xfinity level.
Rovelo, a veteran of the NASCAR Mexico Series, has a successful track record with 26 career wins and the 2020 championship, making him a well-known name among the local crowd in Mexico.
His debut in the NASCAR Xfinity Series will be sponsored by Agua Skarch, a Mexican bottled water brand, bringing attention to the highest number of Mexican-born drivers in an Xfinity race since 2008.
Rovelo’s racing career includes 175 starts in the NASCAR Mexico Series between 2008 and 2024, emphasizing his experience and success in the sport leading up to this weekend’s event.
