Aston Martin’s Bob Bell has detailed the Formula 1 team’s overhaul for 2026, coinciding with new facilities, an engine partner change, and internal restructuring. The team led by Lawrence Stroll has invested in a new HQ in Silverstone and a cutting-edge wind tunnel.
With key hires like Adrian Newey, Aston Martin aims to compete for championships in the upcoming F1 regulatory era. Bell notes that despite progress, the team faces challenges integrating recent advancements into results.
The team is evolving rapidly, with increased headcount and the transition to a works team. Improvements in the 2025 car are vital, helping refine processes for future developments and addressing past issues.
Notable changes include utilizing a new wind tunnel and partnering with Honda, while also starting in-house gearbox production after 16 years of outsourcing. Bell highlights the necessity for time and effort in optimizing the new resources and facilities.
