Peugeot Le Mans Struggles: Racing Against the Odds for Performance

After the first day of running at the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans, Loïc Duval expressed disappointment with Peugeot’s performance, as they finished last on the timesheets and were not competitive with the leading Toyota team.

Despite completing their planned testing program without major issues, Duval openly admitted that Peugeot lacked performance to challenge for victory or a top position in the race.

He emphasized the team’s realistic approach, acknowledging the tough competition and stating that Peugeot was not surprised by their current pace relative to their competitors.

Duval underlined that while they were striving to optimize their package and strategies, they were aware of their significant performance gap and unlikely chances of winning the race based on their current pace.

Looking ahead, he remained skeptical about significant improvements in Peugeot’s competitiveness during the upcoming practice sessions, indicating a challenging road ahead for the French manufacturer at Le Mans.
