Rene Rast, driving for Team Schubert, won the second DTM race at Zandvoort from start to finish. His teammate, Marco Wittmann, put up a challenge towards the end but Rast held on for the win, showcasing BMW’s overall performance superiority. The race was mentally and physically demanding for Rast, who expressed his satisfaction at redeeming himself after the previous day’s setbacks. Wittmann, securing second place, emphasized the importance of team results over individual achievements within the same brand. The victory has placed Rast in second place in the drivers’ championship, behind Lucas Auer of Landgraf Mercedes, with the upcoming race scheduled for the iconic Norisring street circuit in Nuremberg.
