Sebastien Ogier secured his third victory of the World Rally Championship season at Rally Italy Sardinia, overcoming a final-stage mistake to claim the win.
Driving for Toyota part-time, Ogier and co-driver Vincent Landais navigated the challenging 16 rough gravel stages to secure an impressive victory, maintaining Toyota’s 100% winning streak in 2025.
Ogier engaged in a tight battle with Hyundai’s Ott Tanak throughout most of the rally, eventually pulling ahead on Sunday to win by 7.9 seconds.
Toyota’s Kalle Rovanpera finished third, while championship leader Elfyn Evans came in fourth, narrowing his points lead over Ogier from 30 to 19 points.
Despite facing difficulties in Sardinia due to road order and lack of testing, Toyota’s strategic decisions and Ogier’s exceptional driving skills enabled them to clinch the victory.
Ogier’s resilience and determination throughout the rally, especially after the near mishap in the final stage, showcased his mastery and experience in the World Rally Championship, leading to his 64th career win.
