Following a series of events, including a clash with George Russell, Verstappen received a 10-second penalty and three penalty points, putting him at risk of a race ban. Verstappen later apologized for his actions, admitting it was unsportsmanlike. Marko supported the stewards’ decision and noted the emotional toll the incidents took on Verstappen. Red Bull refrained from extensive debriefing post-race to allow Verstappen space after a heated situation.
