KTM CEO Gottfried Neumeister has confirmed the company’s participation in MotoGP until the end of 2026, but admitted that what happens thereafter remains uncertain. The company says its sites in Austria are to be secured in the long term following a loan from Bajaj, which was announced last week. The future of its motorsport activities remains unclear, with a contract with MotoGP promoter Dorna Sports running only until the end of 2026.
Neumeister mentioned, “There are existing contracts that we will honour,” but the future of KTM in MotoGP beyond 2026 is yet to be decided, pending evaluations. Liberty Media’s potential involvement as a new promoter may bring more attention and opportunities, especially in the United States, a crucial market for KTM.
The planned new technical regulations for MotoGP in 2027 could impact KTM’s decision to stay in the premier class, given the changing landscape of the sport. Factory rider Pedro Acosta is considering a move after 2026, highlighting the uncertainty surrounding KTM’s competitive future. Despite ongoing uncertainties, KTM is focused on stabilizing its current operations and preparing for the future based on existing contracts and partnerships.
