Racing Bulls Sizzle with a ‘Stroke of Genius’ in Season-Best Performance at F1 Monaco GP

Sitting in the Monaco Grand Prix media centre, my Motorsport Network colleagues and I discussed the impact of the mandatory two-stop rule in Formula 1. We found that the new regulation favored teams with smart strategies, notably Racing Bulls who excelled in implementing race tactics.

Pirelli motorsport chief Mario Isola mentioned a level of “genius” required to make the most out of the new rule, specifically tailored for Monaco. Racing Bulls showcased strategic brilliance during the race by strategizing their pit stops effectively.

Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson impressed with their flawless execution of the team’s tactics, resulting in a successful finish for the Red Bull junior outfit in the Monaco sunshine. Racing Bulls’ chief executive Peter Bayer praised the team’s strategists for their exceptional performance.

Their risky decision to let Lewis Hamilton pass paid off, allowing them to control the race with both cars. Toto Wolff acknowledged Racing Bulls for their strategic prowess, noting their success in punching above their weight with their tactics.

The team’s harmony, energy, and joy in their work were evident, leading them to a satisfying outcome and valuable championship points. As they head to Barcelona with optimism and smiles, Racing Bulls continue to shine in their impressive rookie season.
