Unfortunately, his race quickly turned into a disaster as smoke appeared from his car, leading to a gearbox issue.
Rossi’s attempt to pit for repairs resulted in flames engulfing his car due to a fuel issue.
Despite the intense situation, both Rossi and his team member Mike Miller emerged from the incident unharmed.
Rossi expressed his disappointment with the missed opportunity at a top finish in the iconic race.
Ultimately, Rossi had to retire early from the event, finishing in 31st place.
