Chase Briscoe secured pole position for the Coca-Cola 600, marking his second pole of the season after the Daytona 500. This accomplishment puts Briscoe in elite company, with only ten drivers having earned pole for both the 600 and Daytona 500 in the same year. Briscoe expressed his confidence and excitement for leading the field in the upcoming race, highlighting the opportunity with Bass Pro Shops Toyota.
Kyle Larson narrowly missed out on pole, starting alongside Briscoe on the front row for the race. Larson will aim to complete the rare ‘Double’ by racing in both the Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day. The top ten starters include William Byron, Chris Buescher, and A.J. Allmendinger, among others.
NASCAR legend Jimmie Johnson, a four-time winner of the Coke 600, will start his 700th career race from the 17th position. The session saw incidents with Carson Hocevar spinning and Tyler Reddick brushing the wall, impacting their starting positions. Ross Chastain, who crashed in practice, will start at the back of the grid for the race.
