Mercedes faced a setback in qualifying at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix, with George Russell unable to continue after a power loss due to a potential electrical issue, following an earlier crash by Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
Russell expressed disappointment over missing out on what he believed could have been a strong performance, especially after feeling back in the game during qualifying.
The difficult qualifying session added to Mercedes’ recent struggles, following a tough race weekend in Imola, where Russell finished seventh.
Antonelli acknowledged his mistake that led to his crash in Monaco but saw an opportunity to explore different strategies under the new rules.
Both drivers are looking to reset and bounce back from the disappointing performances in Monaco, aiming for stronger showings in upcoming races.
