Unfortunate Setback: Ai Ogura’s Forced Withdrawal From MotoGP British Grand Prix

Trackhouse MotoGP rider Ai Ogura will not participate in further sessions at the British Grand Prix due to a possible fracture in his right tibia. The Aprilia satellite squad confirmed this news after Ogura’s crash during Friday’s FP1 session, forcing the Japanese Moto2 champion to sit out the weekend at Silverstone.

Following the accident at Turn 2 during Free Practice 1, Ogura’s injury was diagnosed as a possible fracture at the top of his right tibia, leading to his unfitness for the remainder of the Grand Prix of the United Kingdom. He will undergo further tests in Barcelona for evaluation, with Trackhouse MotoGP Team issuing updates on his recovery progress in the coming days.

Ogura expressed regret over the timing and errors that led to his crash, resulting in discomfort in his right knee and the decision to skip later practice sessions. Despite his recent tenth-place finish in France, where Johann Zarco triumphed, the rookie had shown promise earlier in the season with impressive performances like his fifth-place finish in Thailand.

In the ongoing British Grand Prix, Alex Marquez topped Friday’s Practice session, with Fabio Quartararo in second place. Marc Marquez, the current championship leader, secured fourth position, while Francesco Bagnaia concluded the session in seventh place.
