The development of the AMR25 took place mostly in Mercedes’ wind tunnel, but the final validation work was done in Aston Martin’s Silverstone towers before producing the package.
The team was well aware of the AMR25’s shortcomings during the design ‘frozen’ stage, where subsequent developments are packaged for later implementation.
Key modifications including reshaping of the body, changes in floor design, diffuser reprofiling, and introduction of a new beam wing were noted in the team’s technical notes.
The team focused on improving the airflow direction and conditioning in crucial areas such as the underbody, edge wing, diffuser, and halo mounts.
The reshaping of sidepods, smoother transitions on the top surface of the floor, and modifications in chord and camber of the edge wing are some of the detailed changes made for enhanced performance.
Deputy technical director Eric Blandin expressed optimism about the new package, hoping for improved performance and a successful run on both cars during the upcoming race weekend.
