Francesco Bagnaia openly acknowledged Marc Marquez’s superior riding skills by stating that Marquez could be competitive even on a tractor. Bagnaia had a disappointing performance at the French Grand Prix, crashing out of the sprint race after qualifying sixth. Since Marquez joined the Ducati team in 2025, Bagnaia has yet to outperform him in any session or race except when Marquez crashes. Despite struggling to find the right feeling on the GP25, Bagnaia has recently started expressing a defeatist attitude, unusual for a professional athlete. Bagnaia highlighted the differences in approach between him and Marquez, noting Marquez’s success with the GP23 last season and adaptation to the improved GP25. The Italian rider emphasized the need for more confidence with the bike’s front end, as he continues to face challenges on track.
