Matt Payne claimed victory in the third Supercars race at Symmons Plains by outsmarting his competitors with a strong strategy. Payne’s Grove Racing Ford Mustang held off Broc Feeney’s attempts to secure a sweep of all three races at the Tasmanian circuit. Following a mid-race safety car, drivers made strategic pit stops to manage their Dunlop Super Soft tyres for the 78-lap race. Payne’s unconventional pit strategy paid off, narrowly edging out Feeney at the finish line. Feeney, despite missing out on a clean sweep, extended his championship lead over Will Brown, who finished third. The next race in the Supercars championship will take place at Wanneroo Raceway in Perth, Western Australia on 6-8 June.
