Magnussen to test for Haas in 2025 F1 role

Kevin Magnussen will retain an active role with the Haas Formula 1 team this year, despite losing his race seat at the end of 2024

Kevin Magnussen will have an active role with the Haas Formula 1 team in 2025, despite not having a race seat following the end of the 2024 season. As part of a new partnership with Toyota, Haas is conducting a full test programme using an old car this year, with Magnussen contributing under a newly agreed deal. Due to restrictions on current race drivers’ mileage in the Testing Previous Car (TPC) events, Magnussen’s experience makes him a valuable asset for Haas. Team boss Ayao Komatsu mentioned that Magnussen will also attend some races when his sportscar commitments allow, although his specific role has yet to be defined. Magnussen’s primary focus this year will be on BMW’s LMDh programme in the IMSA SportsCar Championship and World Endurance Championship, including an attempt at the iconic Le Mans 24 Hours race.
