Max Verstappen expressed that he had “lost all respect” for George Russell after their Qatar Grand Prix qualifying incident. The Red Bull driver was upset with Russell for their encounter during qualifying, which led to a penalty for Verstappen allegedly driving unnecessarily slowly. Verstappen felt that the stewards did not listen to his explanations and accused Russell of trying to disrupt him. Despite feeling disappointed and surprised by the situation, Verstappen acknowledged the need to move on from it. Red Bull team boss Christian Horner mentioned that Verstappen used his frustration with Russell as motivation for a successful race performance.
