The 2024 racing season is coming to a close, and it has been an incredible year filled with racing, coaching, and new opportunities. Winning the Mazda MX-5 Cup Scholarship Shootout four years ago opened doors I never imagined, leading me to wrap up another successful season in the Whelen Engineering Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by Michelin. Mazda’s dedication to growing the series on and off the track has made each season more competitive than the last, and I had a strong campaign with victories and pole positions. Despite facing challenges such as car issues and on-track incidents in rounds 11 and 12, I remained in championship contention throughout the season. Even though I fell just short of the championship title, it was a thrilling experience that I poured all my focus and energy into this year.
One highlight was my coaching role in the Turn 2 Club’s MX-5 Cup Series, where I helped develop a passionate group of drivers who raced competitively. Additionally, I ventured into the Porsche Sprint Challenge by Yokohama and Endurance Challenge North America, competing in the 992 GT3 Cup car at Road America and Sonoma. Securing podium finishes and battling for wins in these new series exceeded my expectations, thanks to amazing opportunities from Charlie Hayes Racing and CHR drivers. Despite facing some setbacks, the support from fans and teammates made each success even sweeter.
Looking ahead, I am gearing up for the final round of the Porsche Endurance Challenge North America at Circuit of The Americas, where I will be driving with the JTR team to help secure their championship. The events of the past few months have opened up new avenues in racing, and I am excited to see where the future takes me in my racing journey.
