“Justice for Abu Dhabi” theory touted for Hamilton’s motivation to sign new deal
Lewis Hamilton has signed a new contract with Mercedes until the end of 2025, giving him two more opportunities to win his record-breaking eighth F1 championship. Despite a controversial loss at the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Hamilton believes in the team and still has the motivation and speed to compete at the highest level. He loves the sport so much that he has chosen to continue racing, even though he has the freedom to do anything with his life at this point. Hamilton has expressed his desire to not only win an eighth championship but also a ninth one and is already considering his next contract. Although he will be in his 40s when this deal ends, he never expected to still be in Formula 1 at this age but circumstances have changed. Hamilton’s fans, as well as Formula 1 fans, believe justice was not served in Abu Dhabi, but Hamilton himself is not openly stating this and is instead focusing on regaining control of the championship from Red Bull.
