Saudi Arabia unveils new Qiddiya track set to host F1
Since joining the F1 calendar in 2021, Saudi Arabia has utilized the high-speed Jeddah street circuit on the Corniche coast. Plans have long been in place to transition to a purpose-built venue in Qiddiya, part of the Saudi Vision 2030 project. The new 200mph anti-clockwise track, designed by Alex Wurz and Hermann Tilke, boasts significant elevation changes, notably the 70-meter ‘Blade’ turn. The intention behind the Qiddiya Speed Park Track is to combine elements of permanent tracks and street circuits, offering various configurations and both high-speed and slow sections. Positioned as a leading motorsport venue, the track in Qiddiya City aims to host major global motorsport events, promising a unique and pioneering race experience for spectators.
