Alpine introduced a new electric rally car based on the A290 road car, following FIA’s eRally5 regulations, with a debut planned for before the end of the 2025 season. This rally version is derived from the Renault 5 electric vehicle. The A290 Rallye features a 220 horsepower electric motor, front axle power distribution, and a ZF limited-slip differential, along with a unique sound emission system. Alpine, with a storied rally history including the 1973 WRC manufacturers’ title, aims to make the A290 Rallye a “gateway to electric competition” with a single-rally challenge in France before wider competitions. The A290 Rallye will be showcased at Goodwood Festival of Speed and Rallye Mont-Blanc Morzine, priced at €59,990 excluding VAT for a complete car. The unveiling follows Opel’s launch of its FIA eRally5 prototype Mokka GSE Rally car, amid growing interest in the new WRC 2027 regulations from tuners and manufacturers.
