The current generation of Le Mans Hypercar and LMDh prototypes have been approved to compete until 2032 in the World Endurance Championship and IMSA SportsCar Championship. This decision extends the LMH formula for 12 years and LMDh for 10 years, ensuring stability and cost control in the series. The announcement was made by the ACO, FIA, and IMSA during the Le Mans 24 Hours WEC round press conference. Manufacturers will have the opportunity to see a return on their investment with this extended timeline. LMH and LMDh cars will continue to differ, with future regulations to be finalized by the end of the year. Additionally, LMH entries with pro-am crews will be allowed in the Asian Le Mans Series from the 2026-27 season, showing the growth and interest in sportscar racing in Asia. ORECA and Ligier have won the tender to build the next generation of LMP2 chassis for 2028, beating out other constructors like Lola and Tatuus.
