Lando Norris Defends Max Verstappen Against F1 Quit Threats

Contrary to what Max Verstappen has been saying, Lando Norris does not see it happening.

Lando Norris is not taking Max Verstappen’s threats to quit F1 lightly, acknowledging the potential loss for the sport if Verstappen follows through on his words. Verstappen’s discontent with the new regulations and car setup, where there is a 50-50 split between combustion and electrical energy, has been evident since the start of the season. Despite Verstappen’s struggles with Red Bull’s car performance – currently being ninth in the standings and 102 points behind the championship leader – he maintains that his thoughts would remain unchanged even if he were competing for wins and podiums. Norris, who narrowly beat Verstappen to secure his first drivers’ title last season, believes that Verstappen has the right to make his own decisions and would miss racing against him if he were to retire. While Norris appreciates Verstappen’s venture into GT cars and the potential for fans to watch him compete in different categories, he feels that having Verstappen in F1 adds to the competition and spectacle of the sport. Lastly, Norris remains optimistic that Verstappen will not leave F1 soon, especially since Verstappen himself expressed his desire to win a fifth world championship, indicating a longer stay in the sport.
